Research on secure binding technology through distance confirmation in smart home

Abstract: Under the smart Internet of Things, huge number of smart devices are connected to the home network, so efficient connection and binding technologies are required. Traditional device network binding requires users to directly operate the device to complete security authentication to ensure user-triggered network configuration operations. However, in the actual application scenario of the user, this kind of process either has a relatively high learning cost for the user, or the user cannot directly operate or it is difficult to operate. The integration of BLE technology and Wi-Fi technology is based on a secure binding scheme based on distance confirmation. BLE technology can realize low-power and short-distance pairing, and Wi-Fi provides high-speed network. Through the cooperation of the BLE broadcast of the device and the Wi-Fi module, mechanisms such as distance authentication, automatic network configuration, and binding can be realized, and batch fast connection and binding of devices can be realized. Compared with traditional schemes, the scheme lowers the threshold for users while ensuring security and privacy, and improves the popularity and use of smart devices in ordinary users' homes.
