Abstract: Under the background of green and low-carbon transformation in the home appliance industry, the development and application of phase-change cold storage materials (PCCSMs) have become the research hotspot for energy conservation and carbon reduction in refrigeration appliances. Based on the current research status of PCCSMs in refrigeration appliances, the development and application categories of PCCSMs are reviewed, and the key challenges in their practical use such as high supercooling, phase separation, poor cycling stability and low thermal conductivity are analyzed, along with the performance improvement methods. In addition, the current application status is summarized and the future technological trends for PCCSMs are outlined, providing critical technical insights for the application and promotion of PCCSMs in refrigeration appliances.
