An improved back-off algorithm based on CSMA/CA

Abstract: In traditional smart home wireless communication networks, smart devices access to channels according to carrier-sense multiple access mechanisms. Contention back-off mechanism easily causes long communication, resulting in low channel resource utilization. For the above problems, a channel access mechanism of random access and packet access algorithm is proposed. The time is dynamically divided into different slices in the light of the priority of the station, and stations randomly access the channel in turn according to the divided time slices. As the simulation shows, the proposed algorithm effectively reduces the number of avoidance of devices, in the meanwhile, single device communication delay is effectively reduced. The proposed algorithm also improves system throughput performance effectively.
