Abstract: Noise pollution has been regarded the important influencing factors that harm health and environment by interrupting people’s life, work, study, rest and sleep directly and has become a common problem around the world. However, though the negative effect of noise is well known the low frequency noise has attracted attention in the recent years since it is not easy to sense and not easy to determine. This article has concluded the negative effect on health and recommended the specific standards on low frequency noise from household electrical appliances. To conduct octave spectrum analysis on the noise, and then to apply the NR curve to measure whether the sound pressure level of each octave band is within the allowable range. It is recommended to use the C-level sound level method to test low-frequency noise.
