Experimental study on the effect of condenser flow paths optimization on the utilization of condensate water in portable air conditioner

Abstract: The water pumping system of portable air conditioner can effectively utilize the cooling capacity of the condensate and improve the removal of condensate. In order to optimize the utilization of condensed water, studies the influence of the water pumping system on the generation and utilization of condensed water, as well as the impact on the performance of the whole machine, and then study the impact of condenser flow paths on the utilization of condensed water. The results show that: under the condition of 85%~97% relative humidity, the water pumping system can evaporate 74.69%~93.57% of condensed water, and the theoretical analysis of adiabatic humidification shows that portable air conditioner under this working condition has the potential to evaporate all the condensed water. The comparative study of the condenser flow paths shows that ensuring that the high-temperature side of the condenser is fully in contact with the condensate, which can further improve the condensate removal capacity. After optimization, the rated cooling capacity is increased by 1.31%, the energy efficiency (EER) is increased by 2.42%, and the continuous operation time without overflow under the condition of 95% relative humidity is extended from 0.4 hours to 5.5 hours. In addition, the comparative study of the condenser flow paths shows that the design of the portable air conditioner condenser needs to comprehensively consider air convection heat transfer and condensate evaporative heat transfer. On the premise that the performance meets the requirements, increasing the proportion of condensed water evaporative heat transfer can improve the condensed water removal capacity.
