Abstract: Plug and socket adaptors for which are used abroad overseas are also called travel adaptors. It can connect Chinese plug (GB 1002 plug configuration) of an electrical appliance with a socket-outlet which existing in another country abroad. It has become a common electrical accessory for travelers abroad. However the relevant market surveillance is almost impossible because relevant safety standard is missing and the manufacturing, vendition and use of the product take place in different countries. On the basis of some of problems found in recent quality-safety-risk-monitoring activity, some countermeasures and proposed recommendations are given accordingly.
