Interpretation of the main differences between edition 6.0 and edition 5.2 of IEC 60335-1

Abstract: IEC 60335 is the basic safety standard for household appliances. The main difference between the newly released IEC 60335-1 version 6.0 and 5.2. Including the measurement of input power and rated current changes during the entire working cycle, battery-powered appliances, metal ion battery charging, user-accessible appliance sockets and output sockets, optical radiation hazards, external communication software management, etc. A brief analysis of the differences between the two editions of IEC 60335-1 and the new requirements of the new version of the standard is provided for reference by testers and designers from home appliance related enterprises and testing institutions.
