Abstract: As an appearance decoration, the door and window screen of drum washing machine requires the material to have excellent light transmittance, mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance. In order to study the feasibility of using transparent methyl methacrylate styrene butadiene copolymer (MBS) material instead of methyl methacrylate styrene butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer (MABS) material in door and window screens, the physical and chemical properties of MBS material were tested and analyzed, and the chemical resistance, cold and hot shock tests of parts, as well as the transportation drop, high temperature and high humidity cycle and safety type tests of the whole machine were carried out. The results show that MBS material has low density, high light transmittance, excellent flowability and toughness, excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking, and excellent resistance to alcohol disinfectants and chlorine disinfectants. Meet the experimental requirements of parts and the whole machine, and can replace MABS materials to be applied to door and window screens.
