Abstract: Green consumption is an important way to promote China's green development and an inevitable requirement for the construction of ecological civilization. In the transition period from high-speed economic growth to high-quality development, the transition from traditional consumption mode to green consumption mode is the general trend of this era. By analyzing the research status of green consumption in China and abroad, it is found that there are more qualitative studies on green consumption, and less quantitative researches. Household consumption has great potential for emission reduction. Taking room air conditioners as an example, this paper studies the potential of greenhouse gas emission reduction of air conditioners in different sales scenarios and production processes driven by green consumption through quantitative analysis, and then puts forward four suggestions to promote the energy conservation products’ consumption: strengthening policy support, increasing sales of energy-saving products, promoting the use of environmental protection raw materials and increasing publicity and education.
