Research on the influence of rubber damping materials on the NVH characteristics of range hoods

Abstract: To enhance the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) performance of the range hood, reduce the radiated noise generated by the vibration of the main box sheet metal structure, rubber damping materials are pasted on the main box sheet metal structure of the range hood to achieve the effect of vibration reduction and noise reduction. At the same time, it also has a good effect on improving the sound quality characteristics of the range hood. Through the analysis of the vibration and noise test data of different rubber damping material schemes, rubber damping materials can play a role in reducing vibration and noise and improving sound quality. The effect is related to the pasting position, the material loss factor properties, and the thickness. Under various working conditions, the noise value is reduced by up to 0.51 decibels, the vibration amount is reduced by more than 65%, the loudness is reduced by up to 0.32 sones, and the sharpness value changes little overall. For reducing the mid-low frequency noise under the mid-low speed working conditions of the range hood, pasting rubber damping materials at the appropriate position of the range hood has a good effect.
