Abstract: The refrigerator door seal is mainly made of soft Polyvinyl chloride (S-PVC). The long-term reliability of the refrigerator door seal is related to the quality and usability of the refrigerator. In this work, we mainly focused on the migration effects of refrigerator door seals produced by different manufacturers on different materials of panels. The addition of plasticizers can significantly improve the processing performance of PVC, and products of different shapes can be obtained, however, the plasticizer in the door seals could precipitate under external load and at certain temperature, further infiltrate and contaminate the panels. The impact on high impact polystyrene (HIPS) panels is the most serious, while the impact on the sprayed board is small. The migration to the panels can be reduced after the door seal formula and production process being improved.
