Abstract: Ball pressure test is one of the important methods for testing the heat resistance performance of non-metallic materials. In order to ensure the safety of heat and flame resistance of non-metallic materials in use, it is necessary to conduct ball pressure test detection on the materials. In the test, finding the ultimate temperature of the sample often requires multiple repeated tests, which increases the time and complexity of the test. Therefore, selecting an appropriate starting temperature is crucial. Differential scanning calorimetry experiments are accurate, fast, and have a short cycle. In order to quickly and accurately select the appropriate starting temperature, the correlation between ball pressure test and differential scanning calorimetry test was studied. Select commonly used non-metallic materials: PC, ABS, PC/ABS, PP, PA6, PA6/66, PA66, and conduct ball pressure tests and differential scanning calorimetry experiments respectively. Through experimental research, it is found that DSC can be used for pre testing of ball pressure tests to reduce the workload of ball pressure tests and improve testing accuracy, providing theoretical guidance for improving the efficiency of ball pressure tests.
