Abstract: Compared with conventional microchannel heat exchangers, insert-plate microchannel heat exchangers have better drainage performance and can improve the problem of condensation and defrosting water retention in conventional microchannel heat exchangers used as evaporators. In order to study the feasibility of applying insert-plate microchannel heat exchangers to window-type air conditioning evaporators, a selection study was conducted on insert-plate microchannel heat exchangers, and the overall system design and performance comparison testing were completed. Research has found that using suitable aluminum insert-plate microchannel heat exchangers instead of copper tube finned heat exchangers for window-type air conditioner evaporators can achieve lightweight design while maintaining the same cooling capacity and energy efficiency ratio of the product. At the same time, it can reduce the refrigerant filling amount and improving the safety of using environmentally friendly combustible refrigerants.
